Excellent meeting with Dr Mukhtar. ahmad Chairman HEC. A delegation the Birth Defect Foundation met with Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, to advocate for the inclusion of transgender and intersex healthcare in academic curricula. Representing the foundation were Chairman Ansar Javed, Dr. Rahm-ul-Qadir, Aziz Ahmed Usmani, and Dr. Waheed Anjum, who joined via Zoom.

During the meeting, the foundation’s advisory board presented a carefully designed course outline to integrate specialized training on transgender and intersex healthcare into BS and MS programs.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed commended the initiative and recommended a follow-up Zoom presentation with university vice-chancellors and technical experts to refine and implement the curriculum effectively.

This groundbreaking effort by the Birth Defect Foundation aims to equip future medical professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to improve the treatment and care of transgender and intersex individuals.
