  Formation of Advisory Board for Curriculum Development on Intersex and  Transgender (Gender Dysphoria)

Recognizing the lack of academic content on Intersex conditions and Gender Dysphoria in current BS and MS programs of Clinical, Abnormal, and Social Psychology as well as in medical education, the Birth Defects Foundation has established an Advisory Board to develop relevant course modules and outlines. These will be submitted to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for formal approval, with the aim of integrating them into mainstream educational curricula.

The Advisory Board comprises the following distinguished members:

  • Dr. Qibla Ayaz (Chairperson): Member of the Shariat Appellate Bench, Supreme Court of Pakistan; Former Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar; Former Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology.

  • Dr. Inamullah: Director General Research, Council of Islamic Ideology, Islamabad.

  • Dr. Amjad Tufail: Head of Department, University of Leeds, Lahore.

  • Dr. (Retd. Commander) Muhammad Fayyaz: Former Pakistan Navy; Head of Department, Preston University, Islamabad.

  • Dr. Raham-ul-Qadir: Head of Psychology Department, Government College, Rawalpindi.
