Don’t Let It Be Too Late – Individuals with Ambiguous Genitalia Are Treatable
This Wednesday, Professor Dr. Afzal Sheikh conducted the OPD at Birth Defects Foundation. Among the patients were two pairs of brothers—one from Punjab, aged 25 to 28, and the other from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), aged 27 to 32—who were born with ambiguous genitalia. It is deeply unfortunate that due to a lack of awareness and education, these individuals spent the prime years of their lives without treatment for a condition that is medically manageable, especially if diagnosed early.
We earnestly appeal to you: please join us in spreading awareness. These individuals are treatable—at any stage of life. With the will of Allah, even at this age, treatment is still possible. The Birth Defects Foundation has now started their medical management.
Let us not allow ignorance to rob others of their future. Be a voice for awareness, because timely knowledge can change lives.
