Together, We Can Build Hope — A Birth Defect Foundation Appeal
The Birth Defect Foundation is devoted to providing life-changing surgical and medical care to children and individuals born with congenital anomalies. At present, our Foundation does not have its own hospital. Our patients come to us from five major clinical centers across Pakistan, and our esteemed Chief Surgeon, Professor Dr. Afzal Sheikh, along with his dedicated team, performs surgeries at partner hospitals that we rent for each operation.
However, to continue this noble mission and expand our impact, we are striving to build a state-of-the-art Teaching Hospital, Research, and Rehabilitation Center — a sanctuary of healing, learning, and hope — entirely dedicated to charitable care.
For this dream to become reality, we require 20 acres of land in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, or Rawalpindi. We humbly appeal to the Federal or Provincial Governments, as well as to philanthropists, donors, and kind-hearted individuals, to come forward and help us secure this land — either through donation or financial support.
This hospital will be a beacon of compassion, offering comprehensive care under one roof, with a strong emphasis on research and rehabilitation. A truly unique feature of this institution will be its inclusive mission — providing free treatment and surgery for transgender and intersex individuals, a service that sets the Birth Defect Foundation apart not only in Pakistan but across the world.
