Donate this Ramzan to intersex children
January 28, 2026From a remote village near the China border, a 17-year-old child arrived at our center with an unclear gender identity. After careful medical examination and diagnostic tests, the child was medically declared male. On the same day, another child—who appeared to be a girl—was also declared male during our weekly OPD by Professor Dr. Muhammad Afzal Sheikh, Chief Surgeon, Birth Defects Foundation.
Today alone, 21 children with ambiguous genitalia traveled from across Pakistan, carrying fear, hope, and years of social silence. For most families, sharing images is not possible due to dignity, safety, and privacy concerns—only one mother gave consent. We fully respect and protect every child’s identity.
By the grace of Allah and the generosity of kind donors, 375 children have already undergone successful corrective surgeries and now live with a clear identity, dignity, and a future. These are not just surgeries—they are second chances at life.
As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, we appeal to compassionate hearts:
Your Zakat and donations can change a child’s destiny.
